Polar Diver- Naturalist-Historian-Educator
Adam has worked in the expedition and conservation industry for over a decade. He has been an Expedition Leader, a guide, and an educator in locations all over the world. Adam has been part of expeditions to both the Arctic and the Antarctic as both a scuba diver and a naturalist. Adam spends 6 months a year on expeditions where his U.S. Coast Guard 100 ton captain’s license and experience driving zodiac landing craft and dive boats is an asset to the team. As a former U.S. Army Airborne Infantry team leader and N.R.A. Rifle Instructor, Adam has extensive firearm training to guide and lead in the Arctic. He uses these skills to explore remote areas in order to pass on the stories he finds there. He has a passion for educating others about the fragile ecosystems that exist in every region of the world and why they deserve to be protected. As a diver he adds a unique look at these areas, not stopping at the water but plunging below it to tell the marine stories as well.
Adam grew up in rural Nebraska where his happiest memories were the times spent on the families working cattle ranch- riding horses and exploring outdoors. From Nebraska Adam joined the U.S. Army and spent a combat deployment in Afghanistan. After the military, Adam moved to Hawaii where he began his dive career and also started working with conservation organizations.
Since then Adam has lived in several countries around the world with a variety of jobs including: leading horseback adventure tours through the jungles of Nicaragua, teaching diving in Thailand, and leading multi-day backcountry adventures in Alaska.
Adam is now based on the Big Island of Hawaii where he lives with his wonderful wife and fellow adventure photographer- Christine. They are always seeking the next conservation story that needs to be told and the next location that can be explored!
